Beirut will release a single this Monday, June 6 titled "East Harlem" on Beirut band leader Zach Condon's Pompeii recording label, according to Disco Naivete and confirmed by Pitchfork. There's no word on whether it will be a download-only MP3 release or a physical single.
The U.K. version due out on Rough Trade is a blue vinyl limited to 1000 copies. They're saying "'East Harlem' is an immediate pop song, with an upbeat uke, piano and trumpet melody tailor made for seven-inch satisfaction. 'Goshen' balances out the mirth with heartfelt piano and intimate vocals - perhaps band leader Zach Condon's greatest singing performance ever."
The "East Harlem" release will be the first sigle in the run-up to the full-length album due from Beirut later this year.
