Califone have made the jump to new recording label. Their new album will be released by Dead Oceans on October 6th. The album is part of a film done by singer Tim Rutili titled All My Friends Are Funeral Singers.
Sounds like a happy situational comedy-type film.
The
album was recorded in Chicago at Clava/Four Deuces, and produced by
Brian Deck and Califone. The band got downright experimental in the
studio; check out some of the instruments involved: optigan,
stylophone, baritone ukulele, mbira, and thumb piano.
