What do you do in 2009 if you're an indie rock band of yore, looking to put out some new music? A current trend is to sign with a small-to-mid-size indie label. So it has been with Dinosaur Jr.
They saw the handwriting on the wall with the decline of the major record label, and think they can find a sustainable existence with a label that can give them the attention that's hard to find with a major label, so they've opted to sign with Jagjaguwar.
Now they're pre-releasing tracks form the upcoming album, titled Farm, for free. The album will be released on June 23rd.
