The Iceland Airwaves festival wants you to know that Reykjavík is about more than just ice and Björk. To prove it, they've laid out a whole festival of musical hedonism called Iceland Airwaves, and invited international acts to play alongside Icelandic acts.
They've also just announced the first acts for the 2011 Iceland Airwaves lineup. They include The Vaccines, Liturgy and Sizarr, as well as a handful of Icelandic acts. Check out the Spacelab Festival Guide for a complete lineup.
It all happens in Reykjavík, Iceland, and the dates are Oct. 12-16. The early bird ticket special is open until Feb. 1.
